Is Your Firm on LinkedIn?

For most professionals, LinkedIn is a way to look for connections at other firms, search for job openings and learn more about a firm based on who else works there. The site’s model was centered mainly around individuals, but recent enhancements by LinkedIn will change how users view firms through the new Company Profile features. Still in Beta, LinkedIn’s revamped Company Profiles instantly display which employees you know, new hires of the firm, a full list of employees and recent blog posts — all on the main Profile page. The Key Statistics section is also new, featuring listings of employee job functions, years of experience, educational degrees, universities attended, annual company growth (based on the number of LinkedIn member profiles) and geographic locations.
LinkedIn is no longer the realm of only HR professionals – the new Company Profile essentially elevates the information you wish to put out there about your firm and may well impact your general online search visibility/SEO. We have found that most firms have not taken the time to create full profiles on LinkedIn, but these new features make doing so all the more critical.
