Web Advertising Surpasses Newspaper Ad Revenues for the First Time

The Wall Street Journal and other media sources are reporting on an Interactive Advertising Bureau and PWC study that shows “Web Advertising in the U.S. resumed double-digit growth in 2010, outpacing traditional media growth and surpassing newspaper ad revenue for the first time.”

In the face of these trends, we still have some clients who question web advertising as an effective medium. The doubts prevail at some firms even when our own research of professional services buyers shows that the web is their primary media source and information gathering tool.
This point of view reminds us of the Stephen Colbert quip: “I’m not a fan of the facts…the facts can change, but my opinion will never change, no matter what the facts are.
