What Makes a Great Video?
Posted on June 1, 2011 at 10:12 am
Talking heads may already be all over your website if your goal was to join the video revolution. But talking heads rarely hold your attention for long. What holds your attention is a great idea authentically executed. Here’s an excellent example.
A budget, professional actors and a Hollywood director have no role in this video for Canada’s The Camera Store. We don’t know the facts behind the production but we can confirm the one fact we do know: someone had a great idea.
My guess is that this was shot in a single day with a modest amount of time devoted to post production. There is no monkey jumping up and down to get our attention, no major explosion, and no skin! It is, however, a clever idea with just enough production values to have been viewed by over a million people on YouTube. Hat’s off to wit and creativity.
