Facebook Ensures Everyone Gets the Message

You’ve been elected to The Hall of Fame. You want everyone to know immediately—Facebook friends, email list, as well as the contacts and favorites on your phone. Why not all the above at once? A recent, no-cost app for Facebook, Messenger For Mobile, makes sure all your contacts, Facebook or not, receive your news.

Messenger makes Facebook the only IM tool you’ll need. It affects just messaging. The other great Facebook functions are untouched.

Messenger integrates the contacts on your phone with your Facebook friends. Your message goes to all of them, making it a group chat.  From there, anyone in the conversation can chat with any other, and can share text, photos and locations. (Video-sharing may be coming soon.) You can add people to the chat at anytime, an advantage over most messaging apps, including standard text-messaging apps on phones, where you have to set up the contacts at the beginning of each conversation.

Messenger also allows you to turn off notifications, to one or more individuals for as long as you choose—one hour, until a certain time or permanently.

Messenger is persistent across devices and platforms. Your audience receives your message on Facebook, their iPhone, iPad or Android, or, as a last resort, as a text message if the other options are not available.

This app ties together everyone in your life—through Facebook, push notifications or text messaging. Although at this point, who isn’t on Facebook?
