App of the Week: iTranslate Voice
Posted on June 27, 2012 at 4:36 pm
International travel is one of life’s many luxuries. Sometimes however, potential travelers hold back because of the potential for a language barrier. So, this week we bring you a $0.99 iPhone/iPad App that attempts to break that barrier. iTranslate Voice allows two users who have completely different native tongues to communicate using their voice. For example, user one says “Good Morning” in English. The app then translates and speaks back “Buenos Dias”. User two hears “Buenos Dias” and responds accordingly in Spanish. Now the app translates that back into “Good morning” for user one. Back and forth they go, with the language barrier broken. Currently iTranslate Voice supports 31 spoken languages including 3 variations of Chinese and 2 variations of French. If speech-to-text is not for you, you can always fall back to typing your sentence into the app. You can share your translations with others over email, message or Facebook, if so desired. Here’s to less confusion on your next international trip.Write a comment
