App of the Week – Pulse
Posted on July 19, 2012 at 2:42 pm
If you’re anything like me, every morning consists of checking multiple websites for current news, entertainment, design, sports news and technology. Now there is an app for Android and iPhone that allows you to choose sites you would like to receive news feeds from. Pulse, designed by Alphonso Labs, brings all the content together in a visually pleasing grid, rather than a list.
Pulse lets you choose from fifteen categories: Social, What’s New, Recommended, Technology, News, Lifestyle, Science, Entertainment, Business, Sports, Art & Design, Fun & Humor, Politics, Food and Local. It gives you the option to add up to 5 “tabs” or “pages,” and 60 sources to pull feeds from. You don’t need to be connected to the internet because Pulse loads the news stories you read and makes them available wherever you are.
This app organizes thought leadership articles for easy consumption. Instead of visiting twelve different sites to obtain your daily dose of news you can go to one source, which has article thumbnails paired with every story headline. Not to mention that it is also a visually engaging user experience.
